I'm a Creative Technologist at Google and like to create things with equal parts design & code.
The more I learn from these disciplines, the more I appreciate how similar their processes are.
More importantly, I've come to realise that the most significant results are cultivated in the space where these two meet.
This blog delves into this concept.
Elsewhere, you'll find me chirping on twitter, snapping on Instagram (currently viewable via tumblr and flickr) and uploading work-in-progress on dribbble to name a few destinations.
I also speak occasionally on subjects related to the modern browser - for enquiries please email paul@monocubed.com.
Lot’s of learning over the weekend – this time Processing and the HTML5 canvas.
For some reason, going back to basics with Processing has been a really enjoyable experience – the syntax, methods and concept of a sketch feel perfectly natural and in some ways, almost second nature programming. I definitely appreciate how lean and streamlined the language is in contrast with Flash (sorry Adobe, but sometimes this helps with creativity).
Please excuse the simplicity of these examples, they’re just the first steps of a much longer journey for me (this is a mutation of the learning example “pointillism”).
Thanks to the guys working hard to port Processing over to canvas (ProcessingJS) – please keep it coming!
